토플 스피킹 템플릿 정리 (TOEFL Speaking Templates)

토플은 기본적인 영어가 뒷받침되어야 점수가 올라갑니다. 하지만 90~100점 대까지는 템플릿을 적절히 활용하지 않으면 고득점을 받기가 어려운데요. 이번 포스팅에서는 토플 스피킹 템플릿(TOEFL Speaking Templates)을 정리하였으나, 토플 시험 보기 전에 활용해보시길 바랍니다.

 

토플 스피킹 문제 예시

 

1. 토플 스피킹 템플릿 Q1 문제 유형

토플 스피킹 Questions 1은 Independent speaking task라고 합니다. Independent 지문에서는 개인적인 생각과 의견, 경험을 묻는 질문이 나옵니다. 문제가 나오면 15~30초 정도 준비 시간이 주어지고, 45~60초 이내의 답을 해야 합니다.

 

전반적인 문장 구성은 1) 서두에 자기의 의견을 말하고, 2) 그렇게 생각하는 이유 1~3가지, 3) 결론 순으로 이뤄집니다. 만약 시간이 부족하다면 1~2가지 이유만 말하고, 결론 부분은 말하지 않아도 됩니다. 시간이 남는 경우에만 결론을 말하는 것을 권장합니다.

 

문제는 주어진 주제에 대해 동의 또는 비동의 (Agree / Disagree) 하는지 묻는 문제, 또는 여러가지 선택 사항 중에 선호하는 것을 선택(Pick one) 하는 식의 문제가 주어집니다.

 

(1) Agree or Disagree

I agree that it's good for children to stay at their relative's house or friend's house for a short period away from home.

I agree with the idea of giving students a homework in a regular basis.

I totally agree with the statement that students should experience part-time working jobs before attending college.

I disagree that a teacher who has extensive experience better than one who has little experience.

I totally disagree with the statement that an artist needs to be gifted to succeed.

I don't think 16-year-olds are responsible enough to be able to drive.

(3) 토플 스피킹 Q1 Answer 예시

참고로 아래 예시는 80~100점 대 예시입니다. 고득점을 위해서는 더 자세한 예시를 들어야 합니다.

 

I totally agree with the statement that students should experience part-time working jobs before attending college. Because I think it helps students get experiences, even before students go to university, that will help them get a job. For example, when I was in high school, I worked for a small shop. And the experience helped me to get the job that I want.

I don't think 16-year-olds are responsible enough to be able to drive. Because It's too young to have a responsibility to drive a car. I think driving a car is too dangerous. And a lot of skills and knowledge need to drive a car. So, if someone wants to drive a car, they should be older than at least 18 years old.

I agree with the statement that people lead healthier lives. Because I think there are many healthy foods and plenty of solutions for diseases. Even though there are also unhealthy foods, I believe people are more educated about health today than past.

I prefer to live in dormitories rather than live off-campus. Because I think it's an excellent way to save money for students. For example, when I was in university, I lived in dormitories, and I could save a ton of money because I didn't need to pay rent. It helped me a lot economically and financially.

 

2. 토플 스피킹 템플릿 (Q2 Answers)

Q2부터 Q4문제는 통합형 문제입니다. Q2는 일반적으로 학교나 단체의 Announcement, Letter, Article 등을 읽은 후 이에 대해서 두 학생이 토론하는 것을 듣고, 전체적인 내용을 종합하여 설명하는 문제입니다.

 

(1) Q2 풀이 전략

먼저 Reading Part에서는 다음과 같은 내용을 파악합니다.

 

- types (Announcement, Letter, Article)
- topic of the article
- reasons for the article

 

(2) Q2 템플릿

Q2 Answers 템플릿은 다음과 같습니다.

 

The article is about (topic of the article) due to (reasons for the article)
He/She agrees(disagree) with the school’s decision for (one/two) reasons.

 

First, reason, detail.
Secondly, reason, detail.

Hence, he (stands for / against the) the (topic of the aricle)

 

(2) Q2 답 예시

 

The article is about the elimination of sculpture department due to lack of the money and retirement of the sculpture professor. 

She doesn’t agree with the school’s decision for two reasons. First, she think sculpture department can be maintained by other department’s classes. Secondly, there is no nesserary to hire full time professor. because to hire part time professor would be fine to maintain the sculpture department.

Hence, she against the elimination of sculpture department.

 

100점 이상 고득점을 받으려면 위의 내용보다 더 세세하게 이유를 설명해야 합니다.

 

3. 토플 스피킹 템플릿 (Q3, Q4 Answers)

(1) 풀이 전략

Q3와 Q4는 교수님의 수업 내용을 듣고 전체 요약하거나 질문에 답하는 형식입니다. 이 문제에서는 듣기에 최대한 집중하면서 핵심 내용을 이해하고, 간단한 내용을 필기 할 수 있어야 합니다.

 

(2) Q3, Q4 템플릿

Form the reading, (topic) is defined as (explanation)
The professor further explains the (topic) using (a example / two examples)

First, example
Secondly, example

Thereby, using (this example / these examples) the professor successfully illustrates (topic)

 

(3) Q3, Q4 대답 예시

From the reading, the coloration revealing is defined as defensive tactic for bugs. 

The professor further explains the revealing coloration using examples.

First, the bug. I don’t remember what the exact name.. but the bug can escape by using their hidden wings to make predetor confusing. their wings can make bright color than surround envirnoment. 

Second, the morpho butterfly. the butterfly also use the coloration revealing tactics to escape from predeters. they also use their hidden wings to make bright color so that the butterfly can have the chance to escape from predeters like birds.

Thereby, using these examples the professor explained the coloration revealing.
